DR FRED LATIMORE OGHENESIVBE

Christians all over the world have been urged to invest substantially in the propagation of the gospel of Jesus Christ so as to conjure the blessings, favour and continuous protection of God Almighty.

TONY CHUKS OBUH

The appeal was made on Sunday October 12 at the Cathedral Church of St. Luke (Anglican Communion) in Sapele by a frontline PDP governorship aspirant, Sir Tony Chuks Obuh while speaking at the Harvest Luncheon/Fund Raising Ceremony of the Church.  He posited that the entire life of a Christian is centered around Christ and the supremacy of God such that all that we have as Christians ultimately belong to Him because he is our maker, our father and our God.

Obuh, a Knight of the Catholic Church spoke through his Political Communication Resource Person, Dr. Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe. He told the congregation that his desire to serve the good people of Delta State in a higher capacity is as a result of his strong passion to expand his contribution to the socio-economic remodeling of the state through deliberate economic action plan anchored on transparency, accountability, justice and equity.

The governorship aspirant said when people in government govern well the people rejoice and God will be happy that his people have a just and caring leader, pointing out that, if voted into power as the fourth executive governor of Delta State in 2015, he will partner with the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) to do the needful so as to further uplift the spiritual life of Deltans in particular and Nigeria in general.

In the same vein, the Majority leader of Delta State House of Assembly, Hon Monday Ovwigho Igbuya, who Chaired the occasion said there is the absolute need for the household of God to invest heavily in the building and renovation of God’s house because the individual who is blessed by God is expected to use his resources to glorify his maker.

The Majority Leader  urged Christians to emulate the woman who gave “her widow’s might” pointing out that it is imperative that every Christian should consistently give towards the propagation of the gospel according to the measure of financial blessings enjoyed as a member of the household of God.

While delivering his short sermon at the luncheon ceremony, the Lord Bishop/Spiritual Father of the occasion and Bishop of the Sapele Anglican Diocese,  Rt. Revd. (Dr) B. A. Erifeya (JP), enjoined the political class to govern well so that the people can prosper and have cause to have confidence in the political class.

He commended His Excellency, Dr. Emmanuel Iweta Uduaghan for his giant strides in the overall development of Delta State and prayed God to grant him the wisdom and great ideas to do more for Deltans before handing over the mantle of leadership next year.

The dignitaries who attended the Church Harvest Luncheon and Fund raising ceremony include political tactician, Chief Fred Sowho and his amiable wife, Chief (Hon) Efe Afe, (House of Reps Aspirant) who was ably represented, Hon. Julius Egbebi (Transition Committee Chairman, Sapele Local Government Council), Chief (Dr.) Kings Okpako (PDP LGA Chairman), Chief (Barrister) Arthur Akpowowo (State Youth Leader of PDP and Ethiope East Constituency DTHA aspirant), to mention but a few.
