Tidi Congratulates Oborevwori, Manager on Inauguration of Delta APC Campaign Council

From Francis Sadhere, Warri
Immediate past Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Dr Michael Tidi, has congratulated Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, Senator James Ebiowou Manager and other members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Campaign Council following their inauguration ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The campaign council was inaugurated on Thursday, October 22, 2026, at The Dome Event Centre, Asaba, with Oborevwori serving as chairman and Senator Manager as Director-General.
Tidi, who is a member of the Warri South LGA Campaign/Election Management Committee, described the inauguration as a significant milestone in the party’s preparations for the elections, stressing that the task ahead required unity, effective mobilisation and sustained engagement with party members and stakeholders across the state.
He said the council had a critical responsibility to coordinate the APC’s campaign for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori, as well as the election of other party candidates in the January and February 2027 elections.
The former council chairman urged members of the council to approach the assignment with discipline, mutual respect and a shared commitment to the party’s electoral objectives.
Tidi particularly congratulated Senator Manager on his emergence as Director-General, expressing confidence that his extensive political experience, legislative background and knowledge of party administration would contribute to the success of the campaign.
He recalled that Manager was the pioneer state chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), a position he held during the party’s formative years and the political mobilisation that preceded the emergence of Chief James Onanefe Ibori as Delta State governor in 1999.
According to Tidi, Manager’s early involvement in party leadership and political mobilisation, coupled with his years of legislative experience, has equipped him with the capacity to coordinate stakeholders and strengthen collaboration among party members.
He also highlighted Manager’s 20-year legislative career in the Senate, where he represented Delta South Senatorial District from 2003 to 2023, winning five consecutive terms.
Tidi said the senator’s lengthy service in the National Assembly had exposed him to legislative processes, political negotiations and stakeholder engagement, expressing optimism that these experiences would prove valuable in his new assignment.
He urged Manager to deploy his wealth of experience in working with Oborevwori and other party leaders to promote cohesion and strengthen the APC’s political structures across the state.
Tidi also congratulated other members of the campaign council and its various committees, describing their inauguration as the beginning of a collective responsibility that required diligence, cooperation and commitment to common goals.
He called on members to maintain effective working relationships and ensure that the party’s structures at the state, local government and grassroots levels worked in harmony to achieve the council’s objectives.
Reaffirming his commitment to the campaign, Tidi pledged to work with members of the Warri South LGA Campaign/Election Management Committee and other stakeholders to mobilise support and implement the party’s campaign programmes at the grassroots.
He commended Oborevwori for constituting the campaign council and wished the governor, Manager and other members success in their assignments, expressing hope that their collective efforts would advance the APC’s fortunes in the forthcoming elections.
