The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has called on the Federal Government to immediately fix Warri Refinery and stop deceiving Nigerians under the guise of Turn Around Maintenance while they are doing nothing.

The Association also appealed to the Federal Government to make Petrolleum products available to Warri Deport and stop diverting their products to private individuals.

Chief Ben Odjugo, Chairman, Electoral Committee, Warri Depot and National Officer, IPMAN Mid Western Zone made this call in Warri, Delta State during the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of IPMAN, Warri Depot, held at Government House, Annex.

According to him “previous administrations have always said that they are doing turnaround maintenance but none of them have worked. So until this government is seen to be working and they are able to make the Warri Refinery work, that is only when the Government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu can prove to Nigerians that they are sincere.”

During the Annual General Meeting, the executive of IPMAN Warri Depot under Comrade Zino Onaemo whose tenure had expired was dissolved and a Managerial Team that will handle the affairs of the depot pending resolution of all issues bedeviling the depot was set up.

He spoke further, “because of what is happening in the depot recently, the acrimony and series of court cases that have cropped up in the course of this election, we decided to put the election aside and set up a Managerial Team that will run the depot until election is conducted. For now the Management Team will do the work of the executive.”

The chairman of the Management Team, Mr Harry Okenini who was emotional promised that the team will do their best to ensure that they bring everybody together.

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, who was represented by the Delta State Commissioner for Oil and Gas, Olorogun Vincent Oyibode, urged IPMAN to conduct themselves peacefully, promising that his administration will continue to support them.

Oborevwori said that IPMAN is key to the success of his administration, he appealed to members of the Association to remain focussed and united.

Earlier, the out gone chairman, Comrade Zino Onaemo, while giving his stewardship during the AGM lamented that he could not fulfill some of the promises he made when he was elected because the Warri Refinery was not working and the depot was not getting enough petroleum products from the Federal Government.
