Former chairman of Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State, Hon Princess Josephine Oduaran has hailed Governor Arthur Okowa for the appointment of Chief Amos Itiwhe as the Commissioner representing Ughelli South, Udu, Uvwie and the Urhobos in Warri South Local Government Area in DESOPADEC.

Speaking to our Correspondent in Warri, Hon Oduaran, described the appointment of Chief Itiwhe as a welcome development and a victory to the people of Ewu and gave the Governor a pat on the back for finding him worthy for the appointment.

Hon Oduaran who was also the former Leader of the Legislative Arm of Ughelli South Local Government Area, said Governor Okowa is a listening person, urging Deltans to continue to support him.

According to her,it was the first time somebody from Ewu in Ughelli South Local Government Area was being appointed as a Commissioner from 1999 till date.

She said;  “We have been oppressed for too long; since the advent of democracy in 1999, an indigene of Ewu has not been made a Commissioner, but our dynamic Governor has broken the yoke and released us from bondage and oppression by appointing our illustrious son, Chief Itiwhe from Ewu Ward Three as a Commissioner in DESOPADEC.”

“The Governor has proved to Deltans that he is ready to carry everybody along in his administration and I want to sincerely commend him for the appointment of Chief Itiwhe, first in history of the people of Ewu and we are very grateful to him.”

Also, Hon Oduaran has rained praises on Governor Okowa for the nomination of Barrister Peter Mrakpor as a Commissioner from her Local Government Area.

Describing Barrister Mrakpor as a worthy son of Ughelli South Local Government Area, Hon Oduaran expressed gratitude to the Governor for the well deserved appointment.

“The Governor made a good choice in the nomination of our son, Barrister Mrakpor as a Commissioner in the state.”
