Former Bayelsa State governor and the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Timipre Sylva, in the State governorship election has
said that governor Henry Seriake Dickson who is the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was not ready for the election.

Timipre Sylva

He stated this in Yenagoa recently during a live national press conference which, according to him, was in response to Dickson’s vituperation against his person, the APC and the federal government of Nigeria.

Sylva, who described himself as a man of peace whose initiative brought peace to the niger delta through the amnesty programme, asserted that the APC had planned for a free and fair election, and that the violence that marred the December election wasnperpetrated by Gov Dickson and his PDP.

He said that it was wrong for Dickson to allege that he was a violent man.

Sylva who said that the APC was leading if not for the Southern Ijaw LGA cancellation that was procured by the PDP, also stated that the lead that Gov Dickson was claiming was procured by violence,  wondering why the governor who claimed to be leading was showing so much desperation.

He submitted that the APC was in the State to give thebcitizens victory as the places election would hold on January 9 were in the strongholds of the APC.

Meanwhile, the Bayelsa Restoration Campaign Organisation (BRCO) through her Director of Publicity, Hon. Jonathan Obuebite, while speaking to the media faulted Sylva’s claims, adding that his press conference was only a platform to spin morelies upon lies.
