Executive Chairman Isoko North Local Government Hon. Emmanuel Egbabor has congratulated the President of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria AFN Chief Solomon Ogba on his conferment of honorary doctorate degree of science, honoris Causa by the University of Port-Harcourt.

 

Hon. Egbabor in a statement personally signed by him described the former Delta State Commissioner of sports as a sports administrator per excellence whose contributions to the development of grassroots sports in Delta State and Nigeria has been largely acclaimed by all and sundry.

 

“On behalf of my family and the good people of Isoko North Local Government, I wish to congratulate a sports supremo and administrator per excellence, Chief Solomon Ogba on his conferment of Honorary Doctorate Science degree honoris Causa, by the University of Port-Harcourt.

 

“Your contributions to the growth and development of grassroots sports in Delta State and Nigeria in general has been globally acclaimed.

 

“During your tenure as Commissioner of Sports in Delta State, you ensured the construction of mini stadia across the 25 local governments of Delta State this engendering and fostering the growth of sports in Delta State.

 

“One of the greatest achievements of your tenure was the grooming of several sports administrators in the country today.

 

“Even as President of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria, AFN, your leadership dexterity was never in doubt which has also led to the discovery of more talents that has won medals for the country.

 

“As you are honored today, I join millions of your followers and well wishers in thanking God for a life of service to humanity and God as I wish you more grace to do more for our dear country.” the statement concluded.
