The entire Idheze community of Irri clan in Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State under the leadership of Mr. Richard Okogba has recently welcomed back AIG (Chief) Chris Olakpe over his successful retirement from the Nigerian Police Force (NPF) celebrating him among other illustrious sons of the community with merit award of excellence, commitment and performance.

President General of Idheze Community Development Union, Mr. Richard Okogba while delivering his speech noted that, the event which is in two fold is to give a befitting welcome party to their illustrious son, Chris Olakpe after completing 34 years of meritorious service to the Nation and retired without blemish as an Assistant Inspector General of Police, having served the Nation with total devotion and professional dexterity covering the six geo-political zones of the country.

Okogba disclosed that, Olakpe has been very supportive in the
development of the community and has helped in no small measure in recruiting young men and women into various cadre of the Nigerian Police Force. The PG added that, the community also deemed it fit to
appreciate some of their illustrious sons and daughter on the background of their contributions to the growth and development of the community through personal efforts and government patronage.

Those recognized with merit awards of excellence and commitment including AIG Chris Olakpe (Rtd) were: Engr. Nath Elebe, Hon. Ross Uredi, Pa. Bishop, Dr. Capt. Godwin Olakpe (Rtd), Dr. kingsley Ojoh, Rt. Hon. Leo Ogor Okuweh and Mr. Blessyn Okpowo for their magnanimity and philanthropist gestures in promoting Idheze community and achievements in their various fields of endeavours.

The event which was largely attended by all well meaning sons and daughters of Idheze extraction have in attendance the executive chairmen of the both Isoko North and South in persons of Sir. Constantine Itiakor Ikpokpo (KSM) and his counterpart Hon. Comr. Emmanuel Ajirioghene Egbabor just as Igere Cultural dance led by Elder Joseph Ajekwemu and Opiri – Opre Troop acrobatically thrilled the people in entertainment.

In their remarks, AIG Chris Olakpe and Engr. Nath Elebe on behalf of others lauded the people of Idheze community promising to do more adding that, the recognition is another motivator that will spur them never to relent in doing good, advising young adults to be God fearing and embrace hard work.
