The Benin Electricity distribution company (BEDC) has disclosed that it will embark on mass disconnection of subscribers under its network who are indebted to the company and yet to remit such payment.

BEDC-LOGO-660x330Mr. Tayo Adekunle, BEDC head of corporate affairs in statement signed by the management and made available to our correspondent yesterday in Benin city said the disconnection will be fully enforced as some of these subscribers have not fully paid their electricity consumption within the last two years.

He said that despite numerous engagement with these customers through letters and meetings at various high levels and fora, there appears to be no resolution of this matter in order to prevent a colossal business collapse in the entire value chain.

He said as a company obligated to service, BEDC is going on with its disconnection exercise of all indebted residential corporate, community and MDA customers across its franchise.
