Outgoing Delta State Commissioner for Information, Chike Ogeah, Tuesday, commended the management of THE POINTER Newspapers for sustaining a good relationship with the ministry just as the state government appointed the Assistant General Manager of the Delta Broadcasting Service, Asaba, Mrs. Evelyn Binitie, as substantive General Manager of the broadcasting outfit.

Chike Ogeah, Delta State Information Commissioner.

Ogeah made the commendation and the appointment during his farewell meeting with management staff of THE POINTER, DBS (Warri) and DBS (Asaba) at the ministry’s conference hall in Asaba, the Delta State capital.

Ogeah, who presented two vehicles to the management of the DBS, Asaba, charged Mrs. Binitie to put on her thinking cap and bring the station out of its current state so as to prove that the decision of the outgoing governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, was right.

The Commissioner, who commended the Governor for the appointment of Binitie to replace Acting General Manager, Mr. Godwin Eruobaga, said Binitie should ensure that changes were brought to the station and bring the station back on stream.

He attributed the failure of the broadcasting outfit to acts of sabotage, saying despite the sensitive equipment brought to the station, saboteurs destroyed every move to rebrand the station.

Ogeah, who regretted the failure of the broadcasting station over the years, expressed gratitude to the Governor for giving him opportunity to serve in the Ministry of Information in his government.

The Commissioner expressed gratitude to God for remaining in service all through the years, saying “I thank God that I came in with my two legs, I’m leaving with my two legs. I thank God that I didn’t die in the process.

“If I have offended you before, please find a place in your heart to forgive me. None of the things I did was personal, it was all for the success of the job”.
