Dr Michael Tidi, Chairman, Warri South Council area.

The Warri South Local Government Area in Delta state on Tuesday says at no time did it close routes leading to the Warri Township Stadium, contrary to claims by the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.

In a statement by Francis Sadhere, Special Assistant to the Warri South Council Chairman, Dr Michael Tidi on Media, the purported closure of roads leading to the Warri City Stadium as claimed by Mr. Ima Niboro, Director, Communications and Media Strategy, Delta APC Campaign Organization, is nothing but a figment of his own imagination.

The statement said the Council never ordered the closure of any route leading to the Warri City Stadium.

It further stated that the claim that all routes leading to the Warri City Stadium, venue of the APC Presidential Rally and Delta State Campaign flag off billed for this Saturday, 19th November, 2022, is not affected by the earlier announcement that some roads would be closed.

The statement reads in part, “APC should come out and embark on their campaigns and stop looking for every opportunity to attack PDP in the state.

“For the avoidance of doubt, roads closed by the Warri South Council, according to a statement it released on Sunday November 13, are; Ubeji Roundabout, Okere Square, and Edjeba Community Road from SPDC Gate.

“Those who are familiar with Warri know that the roads mentioned above have nothing to do with routes leading to the Warri City Stadium.

“People cannot just sit in the comfort of their offices in Abuja and begin to chum out all manner of press statements about Warri that they cannot substantiate.

“All residents in the Council should ignore such rumours. The Council is committed to the well-being of her residents.”
