Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State, Dr Michael Tidi has handed over a Toyota Corolla (Sports Option) car to the Leader of the Warri South Legislative Arm, Hon Sylvester Ijabor as his official car.

He said the handover of the official car was to aide and boost the productivity of the leader of the House as he carries out his legislative duties.

Tidi, who was represented by the Secretary to the Warri South Local Government Area, Mr Joseph Oribioye, in company of members of the Warri South Exco and some key members of the Warri South Legislative Arm, added that the gesture was also in appreciation of the robust relationship between the Warri South Legislative Arm and the Executive Arm.

Handing over the key to the Leader of the House, Tidi prayed that the relationship between the legislative Arm and the Executive Arm would continue to be cordial.

Responding, Leader of the Warri South Legislative Arm, Hon Sylvester Ijabor, said the car came to him as a great surprise adding that he was very happy to be honoured with the official car.

He said he is highly elated by the gesture because it was not something that was expected.

“I am short of words. When they asked me to come to the council this morning I was asking what was happening. I asked that my assistant should represent me but they said no.

“I am happy and humbled and overwhelmed. I want to thank the chairman of the council, Dr Michael Tidi, for this pleasant surprise, very pleasant surprise.

“I am so so happy. There are not enough words to express how happy I feel right now. I also want to thank the council and I want to say that we have have been having a very robust relationship over the years, and I pray we have a peaceful exit without any rancour. But like we know, all humans have their faults. But suffice it to say that I am very, very, happy for this gift.
