Chairman of Ugbolokposo Community Caretaker Committee Mr. Amejuma Okotie has stated that for unity and sanity to return to the Itsekiri ancient town, they must revert back to the old administrative style of their grandfathers.

Mr. Okotie made this declaration at the inaugural meeting of the community by the Caretaker Committee Executives, saying that the meeting became necessary because no such enlarged gathering of indigenes had taken place in Ugbolokposo for over eleven years running.

The meeting which was held at the Udefi hall had in attendance the deputy (Olara-aja) head of the community, Pa. Paul Ebiwana and Pa. Godwin Foss, Treasurer of the community Mr. Arthur Ogun-oyibo including some notable elders, elderly women, youths and other major stakeholders wherein salient issues concerning the community were raised, discussed and resolutions taken to move the community forward

The Chairman harped on the need for all indigenes to unite and sink their differences no matter the degree of grievances, noting that there can not be progress, development and growth in the community in the atmosphere of endemic hatred and acrimony that have pervaded Ugbolokposo all these past years.

He further disclosed that the era where everyone does whatever he or she wishes has gone forthwith with the inauguration of the New Executive as directed by His Majesty Ogiame, Atuwatse 111, the Olu of Warri and posited that the issue of environmental sanitation would be given priority and charge all natives resident in Ugbolokposo to henceforth ensure that they partake in the monthly exercise without fail to give the community a new look and restore her pride of place as it was before.

According to Okotie who also announced that Mr. Monday Ekele has been re- instated as the substantive Spokesman of Ugbolokposo Community, he said for purposes of real integration proper there shall be a general meeting bi-monthly henceforth to review the progress made so far.

He tasked every indigene of the ancient town to always come forward to contribute to discussion by pointing out areas that needed attention as well as proffer workable solutions even as he called for all hands to be deck to assist the new Executive succeed for the benefits of the entire Community.
