… Donates accommodation to corp members in the council

The Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Dr. Michael Tidi on Friday flagged off the National Environmental Sanitation programme organized by the National Youth Service Corp in Warri South Council Area.

The chairman also used the opportunity to donate a building for the accommodation of the youth Corp members in the council.

Tidi who spoke to the youth Corp members during the flag off held at the Warri South Council Secretariat, urged them to execute the task with all sense of responsibility.

He said he was happy that officials of the NYSC have come out with such a laudable project for the Corp members, adding that this will reawaken patriotism in the youths as it was done in the past.

The Warri South council boss reminded the Corp members that the future of Nigeria lies in their shoulder, adding that their responsibility starts with embarking on community service.

“This is a day that he have longed to see. It gladdens my heart that the leadership of the NYSC have thought it wise to organize this programme for our corp members in the country.

“I used to think that the purpose of the NYSC program is almost defeated because today corp members don’t want to work anymore.

“The future of this country is in your hands. If we fail this country there is no any other country that we can call our own.

He urged them to go about the Sensitization campaign with all sense of decorum and responsibility.

Earlier the Zonal Inspector of the NYSC, Mr. Goodwin Obaren, said the programme was a national programme taking place simultaneously across the country.

Abaren urged the Corp members to be orderly as they go about the sensitization campaign.

Also the Local Government Inspector, NYSC, Mrs Abodunde Olubunmi, announced to the Corp members in Warri South that the council chairman had graciously donated a duplex for their accommodation.

She commended the council chairman for the gesture promising that the corp members will take ownership of the accommodation and take care of it.

High point of the occasion was the flag off of the NYSC National Environmental Sanitation sensitization campaign across the council area to sensitize people on the need to keep their environment clean.
