Welders and fitters of Ijaw extraction in Delta State under the auspices of Izon-Ibe Welders and Fitters Association OGBO have vowed to resist any attempt by other group(s) to molest its members.

In a statement signed by its National President and Treasurer, Messrs David Itiemogha and Godspine Ebikeme, the welders and fitters warned that nobody or group of persons should parade themselves as an umbrella body of the association or molest its members.

While noting that it is a duly registered body, the association enjoined stakeholders in multinational companies to lend maximum support to its members in the course of their professional practice.

The statement read thus; “We wish to state that; we are duly registered Association with Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) with registration number CAC/IT/NO. 18304, in 21st March, 2005.”

It added that “This association is well recognized in Nigeria and that nobody or group of persons should parade themselves as an umbrella body in molesting our members; also stated strongly that our duly registered members should not be embarrassed or harassed by any group or persons parading themselves as an umbrella body.”

They further wrote “The registered members are duly issued with our identification cards (ID Cards) and as such they should be given maximum support whenever the need arises. This Association OGBO therefore, is a law abiding association.”
