Chairman Warri South Local Government Area, Hon. (Dr) Michael Tidi, on Tuesday said his administration will lay more emphasis on security and cleaner environment.

He said that as the reelected chairman of the council he will partners with traditional rulers and people of the the council to achieve their goal.

Tidi made this statement when the Head of Personnel Management of Warri South Local Government Council, Dr. (Mrs.) Minnie Igbrude, handed over the administration of the council back to him.

The Warri South boss who was reelected on Saturday’s elections as the chairman of Warri South and took his oath of office in Asaba on Monday, said he intends to hit the ground running as he has already called for a security meeting to be held on Tuesday.

“I and my vice we have hit the ground running. The first security meeting will take place today.

“We have a clear cut idea of what we intend to do this second term and we intend to push forward our ideas with all vigor.

“Security is key and we don’t intend to joke with it. We are going to address the issues of security squarely and in doing this we will partner with our traditional rulers,” Tidi said.

“Next is the state of the local government as it concern the environment. We want to ensure that we have a cleaner environment.

“We want to discourage indiscriminate disposal of waste in the council. We want to ensure that when you enter the council you will know that this is a clean council and we will become a reference point as one of the cleanest council areas in the state,” Tidi said.

He said the council will set up task force on environment to ensure compliance of the new environmental laws that will soon be out.

Tidi also announced the dissolution of all adhoc staff of the council till further notice.

Tidi thanked the state Governor, Senator (Dr) Ifeanyi Okowa, PDP leaders and the entire Warri South Local Government Area for giving him another opportunity to serve them.

Earlier, the HPM of the council, Dr. (Mrs.) Minnie Igbrude, while congratulating Tidi for his victory at the just concluded poll, said Tidi’s victory at the poll was as a result of his “unequaled and superlative display of unparalleled management of human and material resources in his first tenure.”

Igbrude, who intimated the chairman on happenings within the council area when the chairman was not around, commended leaders within the council area for their contribution towards the success of the immediate past council elections.
