ALL is now set for the Delta State Trade Fair 2013, kicking off today, Monday, October 21, 2013 at the Permanent Trade Fair Site, Osubi in Okpe Local Government Area of the state with over 150 companies, including Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) participating.

Our Correspondent who visited the Trade Fair Site yesterday at about 9.50am, reports that all was set for the Trade Fair as finishing touches were being put to arrangements just as participants had started streaming to the venue of the Trade Fair.

Delta State Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Dr. Kingsley E. Emu disclosed that the Trade Fair, which is Public-Private Partnership driven is aimed at creating a platform corporate bodies, small and medium enterprises to meet and showcase some novel products by Deltans.

Dr. Emu who spoke to newsmen shortly after inspecting the level of preparations for the Trade Fair, said “The Trade fair will help to expose our people as major manufacturers are coming. The Central bank of Nigeria (CBN) is also coming.”

The Commissioner said this year’s Delta State Trade Fair is different because it is completely financed by the Private Sector and enjoys the support of the Delta State Government.

Dr. Emu disclosed that the one week trading event is aimed at promoting innovations by Deltans, particularly state-owned technology incubator centres in Warri.

He also asserted that the Trade Fair would help small and medium enterprises, SME in the state to attract investors and be exposed on how to access the Federal Government Loan on SMEs.

According to him, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) will organize a two day seminar on that issue, saying that the CBN is coming to talk to us. The CBN will organize two days SME clinic during the Trade Fair. The Bank of Industry is also coming. The Warri Industrial Business Park and DESOPADEC are also coming. Delta State is a blessed state.

The Commissioner said that the 2013 Delta State Trade Fair will host the Bank of Industry, Guinness Nigeria, Zenith Bank, DESOPADEC, the State Ministry of Poverty Alleviation, PIND Foundation amongst others.

Also speaking, an official of the Delta State Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mine and Agriculture, DACCIMA, Mr. Joe Omo-Duyo commended the State Government for the uniqueness of this year’s Trade Fair.

For their parts, a representative of the consultants for the Trade Fair, Crown Media Limited and Message Wise, Mr. Nwankwo Kenechukwu assured that all participants will benefit more than they expect.

Mr. Kenechukwu, who is a Project Manager of the Trade Fair, advised Deltans to take advantage of the Fair.

Our correspondent gathered that the Trade Fair will be formally declared open on Wednesday, October 23rd, 2013 by Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan. The Trade Fair being put together by Delta State Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (DACCIMA), the Delta State Ministry of Commerce and Industry in collaboration with Crown Media Limited and Message Wise Limited ends Sunday, October 27th, 2013.
