The Commander Joint Task Force Major General Alani G. Okunlola made this vow today at Egwa 11, after inspecting the blown up facilities.

He said that the Federal Government would do all it can to bring the saboteurs of the National assets to book.

He warned that the Federal government will not condone any act of sabotage in the country, noting that it will deal ruthlessly with those behind the dastardly act.

While saying that the blown pipeline were critical to nation’s well being, the JTF Commander noted that it was sad for anyone to put the nation in jeopardy by blowing up its national assets.

Major General Okunlola also vowed to hold community leaders responsible for any act of sabotage perpetrated against oil and gas facilities in their domain.

He described the act as not only criminal but capable of undermining the national security of Nigeria.

He called on government officials and community leaders to give Operation Pulo Shield and other security agencies working in Niger Delta region useful information that will lead to the arrest of the perpetrators.

While assuring Niger Delta residents of Operation Pulo Shield’s determination to wipe out all acts of illegality in the region, the JTF commander also called on residents to always give them useful information.

He warned perpetrators of the dastardly act to desist from further destruction of oil facilities or be ready to face the full wrath of the law.

Major General Okunlola also  reassured the people of the Niger Delta region that the JTF is closing in on the criminals that perpetrated the act, saying that soon they will be brought to book.

This warning is coming on the heels of recent multiple attacks on oil facilities and platforms by suspected militants in the Niger Delta region.

Meanwhile, the extant law banning the use of outboard engines with 200 HP and above will henceforth be strictly enforced in the region, says the JTF commander.
