The Chairman of the Sapele –Okpe Community who drew his inspiration from his mentor Chief Ede Dafinone that has been in the Vanguard of empowering Deltans through skill acquisition programme with starter packs annually, said he decided to join in the race of doing good to humanity after he pondered over the blessings of God on him over the years.

Hon. Moses Ogodo, a one time supervisory councilor for Agriculture in the Sapele Local Government Council, while handing over two brand new wheel chairs to the disabled persons, told them not to discourage in life, since God has a purpose for their life, just as he referred them to some persons in the society that produced prominent children despite their disabilities as several in the society who are physically sound in mind and body cannot even achieve any feat in life despite their good condition.

He told them that he has been paying most of the blind persons in the area monthly, paying 20 widows N5,000.00 each monthly, while
arrangement for another cooperative society through a revolving loans for other set of widows has also reached an advance stage, all geared towards removing pains from them all year round, while approving their request of empowerment to those serious minded disabled persons immediately.

Hon. Ogodo, stressed that the pains and burden of what the disabled
persons are passing through, propelled him into action to assist them
in life, advising the well-to-do in the society to affect the life of
others especially the disabled ones in the society positively because
they are also created by God like ‘they the rich ones’.

He advised further that instead of them to display their wealth and
affluence ostentatiously in the society, they should go round, look
for those in need, especially those with disabilities who can not fend
for themselves and help them out, pointing out that “once you do that, God will protect your life and that of your entire family and keep you long on earth for you to do more”.

Hon. Moses Ogodo attributed his success story to his wife who has been of an immense assistance to him, and as well aided him in creating a healthy relationship amongst the people, which has prevented him from having enemies.

The Secretary of the physically challenged persons in Sapele under the aegis of “Focused Physically Challenged Persons Multi-purpose Coperative Society” (FOPCHAPS) Sapele chapter, Comrade Tony Emejuru, while expressing the appreciation of the body to Hon. Ogodo on behalf of the beneficiaries of the wheel chairs, Mr. Oba – Omatie and the President of the group Mr. Sunday Orhuerakpor, said the chairman of the community is a worthy and a noble leader whose enviable character has positively affected many persons in the community.

Comrade Emejuru while praying further to the chairman and his wife for long life and prosperity, they also described the wife of the chairmanas  a virtuous woman whose outstanding contributions and cooperation to the husband has brought more fame, blessings and prosperity to her husband as all who spoke from among the disabled persons, told then family that because of their humility, receptability to the people, God too will open the heavens and shower more blessings upon their lives and that God will give Hon. Ogodo more wisdom to lead his people.
