The CEPEJ National Coordinator in a press statement in Warri, Delta State, described those clamouring for the Assets sale as enemies of the country and urged the President not to listen to such people.

According to him, those who were calling for Assets sale, were looking for avenue to acquire the National Assets and make life difficult for the masses.

Comrade Mulade said that; “Some of these Nigerians who are calling for the Assets sale also wanted former President Olusegun Obasanjo to do same when he was in power. But the former President resisted the pressure to do so and I am imploring President Buhari not to listen to these enemies of the State, they do not mean well for the nation and the common man”.

He suggested that as a way out of the Recession, the President, Vice-President , Senate President, Deputy Senate President, the Speaker, the Deputy Speaker and the Governors should sacrifice their six months salaries and make do with their allowances.

In his words;” Let our elected politicians, starting from the President down to all the Governors in the country, sacrifice their six months salaries to bail the country out of the current Recession. They should go home with their allowances. Our Governors and Senators should stop encouraging the President to sell our National Assets. Our leaders should think of what to give back to the country and not want they can get from the country”.

“This is the time for our leaders to demonstrate patriotism by doing the needful now. Ask for what you can give to the country and not what you can get from your nation”, he said.

Comrade Mulade added that;” As we mark the 56 Anniversary of our beloved country and with Recession staring at us, it is my appeal to President Buhari not to sell the National Assets, let us make sacrifices for this great nation that has done so much for us. Let us show patriotism now more than ever before in this period of Recession.”

“We shall surely overcome, but the President must not go ahead to sell our National Assets to unpatriotic Nigerians who are determined to make life unbearable for other Nigerians. We must rise against the selling of our National Assets. I believe strongly that we have resources to overcome Recession. Wealthy Nigerian Investors such as Aliko Dangote and others should come to the rescue of the Federal Government by doling out funds to bail out the country from Recession,” he said.
