The Commissioner for Ughelli South, Udu, Uvwie and Urhobos in Warri South in the board of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Chief (Sir) Amos Itihwe has assured Deltans of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa commitment to Deltans, saying that Okowas will not fail them.

He gave this assurance while speaking recently at a special Thanksgiving Service at St. Lukes Anglican Church, Ughelli for the election of the Governor, his appointment by the Governor and his recent investiture as a Knight of St. Christopher of the Anglican Diocese of Ughelli.

Sir Itihwe said though his political career had been marred with some bitter experiences, everything has however changed since the emergence of Senator Okowas as the governor of the state, disclosing that Governor Okowa has long been his reliable political factor.

The DESOPADEC Commissioner promised to remain committed to the’ SMART’ agenda of the Okowas administration by his appointment to affect the people of his mandate areas positively.

While re-assuring Deltans that the Governor would deliver on his electioneering promises, Sir. Itihwe called on Deltans to be patient and support the state Government towards building a prosperous state.

Delivering a goodwill message of the state Governor, the Secretary to the state Government, SSG, Hon. Ovie Festus Agas, described Sir Itihwe as a humble and grassroots politician who believed in and is committed to the Governor Okowa SMART agenda.

The Governor however advised sir Itihwe and other politicians to translate the SMART agenda prohram into positive difference in their communities.

Earlier in his sermon, the Anglican Bishop of Ughelli Diocese, Right Reverend Cyril Odutemu enjoined Christians to imbibe the attitude of giving thanks to God.

He charged politicians in the state to always attract meaningful development to the people and be good ambassador to the Governor.

He also called on Governor Okowa to create employment for the teeming unemployed youths in the state by retiring civil servants who have reached retirement and injecting fresh blood.

In an interview, the wife of the DESOPADEC Commissioner, Lady Kesiena Itihwe said that God has been so faithful to them, promising to always support her husband with prayers and good advice.

In separate interviews, the Principal Secretary to the state governor, Mr. Hillary Igbegbulem, the majority Leader of the State House of Assembly, Hon. Reuben Izezi, the President General of the Union of Udu Communities, Chief Steve Sokoh amongst others, described the DESOPADEC Commissioner, Chief Itihwe as a humble modern day politician who uses the instrumentality of government to positively impact the lives of his people.
