The Delta State Library Board, Ozoro branch is in a dare need of government’s urgent attention in order to revive the reading culture as well as enhancing learning and research processes of the people in the area.

Our correspondent gathered that, the Library which is situated at Ekwerigbe Primary School along NDC road, Ozoro has been in a deplorable state for the past four years and needs some stocking as well as furniture.

According to an impeccable source who pleaded anonymity, disclosed that the Library has since been neglect before it was recently handed over from the Ministry of Higher Education to the Delta State Library Board.

In his words: “The Library has been in a deplorable state for the past four years. The roofs, furniture, and stockings inside are all bad. And no one can come and read under a shining sun or a heavy rain”.

And it was however gathered that, the attention of the Local Government Council has been drawn to the plight of the Library for the past two years and their response was exonerating, saying that it is the State government that is responsible for it restructuring and stocking.

Meanwhile, the S.A to the State Governor on Library Development, and well meaningful sons and daughters of Ozoro extraction as well as the State Government has been called upon to wade into the plight of the Library so as to ameliorate the situation
