DELTA STATE UNIVERSITY 2013/2014 MATRICULANTS

The College of Education, Warri in affiliation with Delta State University, Abraka has threatened to flush out unworthy students from the institution, just as the school matriculated 303 students for 2013/2014 Academic session.

DELSU Vice Chancellor, Professor Eric .A. Arubayi made this threat during his address at the matriculation ceremony at the weekend in the oil rich city of Warri, congratulated all the matriculating students that they were very lucky to have been picked by the school for this year’s academic session.
Prof. Arubayi, who was represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Administration, Professor C.P. Aloamaka charged the newly matriculated students to brace up for the challenges ahead, saying that the onus is in your hands, urging them to be a good ambassador of the citadel of learning in particular and society in general.
He warned that any student found engaging in cult activities will be shown the way out as cultism on the campuses of the University remains banned, while advising the matriculating students to shun all forms of social vices particularly actions involved violence, cultism, breach of peace, examination malpractices and indecent dressing as breach of Matriculation Oath that will jeopadize the completion of their studies and the attainment of their life dreams.
According to him, “As a student you should comport yourselves diligently, observe the rules and regulations of this University and refrain from activities which are inimical to the growth of intellectualism.”
While commending the Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan for the giant strides he has taken for the development of the institution, saying “The credit of the foregoing success of the University goes to the Delta State Government whose interest and commitment to the overall well-being of the University has taken the University to an enviable height.”
He noted that the larger society has continued to look up to the University for high personal and moral integrity, adding that over the years the University has continued to mold the character of students, thereby making them responsible in their chosen careers.
Professor Arubayi stated that the mission of Delta State University is to promote quality education, character and cultural transformation, to meet the challenges of our time through exemplary scholarship and professionalism for the purpose of addressing local, national and international issues in key areas so as to contribute to the improvement of the global community, enjoined the students to emulate the noble parts and conduct themselves in a way that will promote the good image of the University.
