All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the April 11 governorship election, Olorogun Otega Emerhor  has decried the sorry state of infrastructural decay, acute poverty, ever increasing debt profile, high rate unemployment and gross underdevelopment in Delta State, particularly in the past 16 years of reckless looting of financial resources by the successive administrations of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Emerhor and Delta APC in a statement by Director of Media and Political Communication, Dr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe said it is painful that the PDP wasted precious 16 years which is more than enough to build standard socio-economic structures and financial empire for the overall development of the state, and for the enjoyment of Deltans throughout the three senatorial districts.

He further asserted that PDP dashed the hope and aspirations of Deltans so much so that the populace now wallow in abject poverty and sorrowful state of standard of living. The APC chieftain urged the people to partner with the APC to end the 16 years of misrule of PDP so as to open a new page for good governance and overall development of the state.
Oghenesivbe quoted Emerhor as saying that at 24, Delta State has little or nothing to celebrate, pointing out that the oil rich state which rakes billions of Naira on a monthly basis ought to be a pacesetter in the area of industrialization, job creation, quality healthcare, good roads, free and standard education at all levels, social welfare and other social services anchored on sound government policies.
