Leaders of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Okumagba ward I and II as well as some other Urhobo stakeholders in Warri South Local Government Area have thrown their weight behind the 2015 House of Assembly aspiration of Mr. Matthew Poko Opuoru, Special Assistant to the Governor on Special Duties to represent Warri South Constituency 11 just as they described the political aspiration of the governor’s aide as their project which must be pursued and sustained to logical conclusion.

Receiving Mr. Opouru in his private residence, PDP leader in Warri South Local Government and his supporters, Chief Emmanuel Okumagba, said, “I know Mathew well enough as rugged and firm but he fights like a jackal, which means he can fight for the rights of his people”.

While admonishing Mr.Opuoru to keep a straight face in his 2015 aspiration, Chief Okumagba noted that the people no longer want the era where everybody will be bought with money into slavery and denied of their rights.

Speaking at the occasion, Pa. Churchill Oki, an Educationist, Hon. Festus Okoloko, former Supervisor for Youths, Sports and Culture, Warri South Local Government, Divine Iniovosa,  Women Leader, Okumagba Ward II Women Leader as well as an elder in Agbarha, Warri who prefers anonymity, all described Mr. Opuoru’s aspiration to the Warri South Constituency II seat in 2015 as their project which must be vigorously pursued, even as they insisted that it is the turn of Okere-Urhobo to produce the Warri South Constituency II representative since Agbarha Warri has had three terms since 2003.

Receiving Mr. Opuoru and his supporters at the Okumagba Ward I headquarter, Mr. Femi Okumagba, chairman,  PDP Okumagba Ward 1 described the governor’s aide as one who has worked a lot with them saying that the intention of Mr. Opuoru  is good, adding that, “he is a moving train”.

Mr.Opuoru in separate remarks at the home of Chief Emmanuel Okumagba and his ward headquarters, stated, “I want to appeal to the people of Warri South Constituency II to give me their massive support to enable us see the benefit of our efforts having fought to sustain the legacy of PDP in the constituency in particular and the state at large.”

While noting that he has nothing against the incumbent member representing Warri South Constituency II in the State House of Assembly, Mr. Opuoru assured the people that his aspiration will consolidate on the winning streak PDP has been enjoying in the constituency.

Present at the ceremony were some former Councilors and current Transition Committee Members of Warri South Local Government that includes Mr. Dave Akporaye, Alex Edah, Hon. Sunny Aguweye and Hon. Steven Dolor.
