Okowa, most qualified to take over from me—-Uduaghan
By Omos Oyinbode, Asaba
Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, has given a thumbs up to the gubernatorial primaries that produced Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, describing him as the most qualified person to take over from him.
Governor Uduaghan, who expressed confidence that PDP would win in Delta State, described Okowa as very marketable and electable, saying Okowa is a product that does not need introduction to the people of the state.
He noted that “when you have a good product, you are not constrained by the issue of acceptance as people would readily embrace the product because of its finesse”.
He, however, urged party faithful to redouble their efforts in ensuring the victory of all PDP candidates.
While condemning the action of some youths in Bomadi, which almost disrupted PDP rally in the area, Uduaghan maintained that the PDP led administration in the state was committed to peaceful campaigns and violent free elections, warning that security operatives had been put on alert to nip any untoward action in the bud.
He noted that the PDP had continued to demonstrate maturity in its conduct and actions, stressing that “we demonstrated such during our primaries. And we will continue to show good example of exemplary conduct before, during and after the elections.
He maintained that “peace across the state is of utmost importance to us as a party and also as a government. Besides I am particularly committed to the emergence of Senator OKowa as Governor of our dear state”.
He called on traditional rulers in the state to always maintain peace in their various domains, warning that any breach of the peace would not be tolerated by government.
