The Bayelsa State House of Assembly has revealed that no member has defected from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to any other party in the state.

This was made known by the Chairman of the House Committee on Information, and also member representing Nembe Constituency 3, Hon. Obiene Inibioyo, on Friday while discussing with newsmen at the Assembly Complex.

Reacting to claims that there was disagreement between honourable members of the house, Hon. Inibioyo maintained that there was no disagreement, that one happened was a normal routine of the house.

“We are honourable members and we do not agree with the word defect, what is on now is just what we experience in every sitting in the house. We agree to disagree, and we disagree to agree. That is the beauty of the house,” he said.

“We have witnessed incidents in which some PDP members leave the party and then still come back and we accept them because we disagree to agree. If you are here and you only say nay, or you are here and you only say yea, then you are not a honourable member, sometimes you say nay, sometimes you say yea, that is what makes you a complete member of the house,” he added.

Hon. Inibioyo also said that by agreeing and disagreeing which is a must in every house, they have been able to come out with reasonable laws which have added to the development of the state.
