As minds begin to ponder on what will be the political shape of Bayelsa; as the All Progressives Congress (APC) try to force its way into the state, the Special Adviser to the Governor of Bayelsa State on Security, Lt. Col. Bernard Kenibai (rtd), has stated that the APC is a registered party and has the right to come into the state.

He said this while chatting with newsmen at the Peace Park in Yenagoa after the Armed Forces Remembrance Day on Wednesday. Lt. Col. Bernard stated that the APC is like any other party and there is nothing special about it. He added that Bayelsa being the home of the President has nothing to do with APC coming in or not because the party has the right.

He stated that they want the APC to come and operate fully in the state as soon as possible to give the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) credible opposition.

He however explained that every organization is made up of personalities and the party gives no immunity to anyone who has any issue to answer to the security agencies.

His words: “Whether you are coming under APC or PDP, if you have issue to answer to the police, the organization or party does not give you immunity. If you have any issue to answer, you are going to do it as an individual, and Bayelsa will stand and make sure that right in any
part of the world is right and wrong in any part of the world is wrong.”

“APC is just one of several other parties. The last time, we went to the poll with several other parties, There is nothing special about APC. PDP has a race against its self, not against any other party. What is special about APC?”

“We can’t wait to have APC on ground, but they must be careful about the choice of their person.” he said. The SA on Security also noted that they came into government with a
vision. He said that checking through their records, they have cover good ground in regards to performance.

He also said that they still have two more years to go and they are still going to cover other areas that enable any right thinking person to say that they have done well.

“It is for you to be satisfied with what you are doing, you can deceive everybody but you can’t deceive yourself. Looking at the efforts we have put in, we have done well. I want to tell you that His Excellency came with a vision and he is focused on that vision, his
eyes are not shifted at all, he knows where he is going to.” he added.

Lt. Col. Bernard urged Bayelsans to pray for the Restoration Government of Gov. Dickson, stressing that Bayelsans have not seen anything yet.
