Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Delta State, Dr Michael Tidi, has presented a budget estimate of N5, 431, 034,812.91, christened “budget of Advancement” to the Warri South Council Legislative Arm.

Breakdown of the appropriation shows that recurrent expenditure will gulp the sum of N3, 527, 934, 903.16, which is 65 percent of the total expenditure while capital expenditure will gulp the sum of N1,903,099,909.75, which is 35 percent of the total expenditure.

While presenting the draft estimate to the House, Tidi appealed to the Council’s legislative arm to consider the “speedy and prudent analysis, examination and consequent, judicious passage of this year’s Draft Estimate.”

He said this year’s draft Estimate is lower than last year with about N1, 226, 003, 339.00.

He said, “Expected Cash inflow from Statutory Allocation from the Federal Government and our Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) by God’s grace, will meet up with our proposed Expenditure.”

He said though last year’s budget was not fully executed because of the global fall in oil prices and global epidemic of COVID-19, Tidi promised that this year’s budget will be more realistic.

He said that this year’s budget is in line with the Smart agenda of His Excellency, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State.

The Warri South council Chairman thanked the leader and other Honourable members of the House for their patience, tolerance, understanding and comradeship since the inception of his administration.

Responding, Leader of the Warri South Legislative Arm, Rt Hon, Sylvester Ijabor, assured the chairman of the council that the House will take a speedy look at the Draft Estimate.

He said the House will ensure that the budget estimate will be given the necessary consideration as well as speedy passage.
