ASABA AIRPORT COMPANY UNVEILED AS DFA 2022 FA CUP SPONSOR

Delta State Football Association (DFA)has announced that Asaba Airport Company will be the Official Sponsor of the 2022 Delta State Federation Cup tournament.
Speaking at the unveiling ceremony, Hon. Kenneth Nwamucha, Chairman, Delta State Football Association(DFA) said, “I am delighted to welcome Asaba Airport company as an official sponsor of the 2022 DFA Federations Cup Tournament.”
Hon. Nwamucha added, “through this partnership with DFA, Asaba Airport Company will further connect with the state football community .DFA is ready to embrace the impact this sponsorship deal will have on the future of Delta football development. I am certain that together with Asaba Airport Company , we can take Delta State Football to an enviable new level.”
The DFA boss commended the consulting firm, Viotta, led by Chief Victor Onogagamue, former Director General of Delta State Sports Commission for making the drive possible for the Association while also announcing an upgrade of the price money for this year’s Federations Cup tournament.”
Hon. Nwamucha disclosed that there is an increase in the prize money to be won by winning participating teams, adding, “I want to use this opportunity to announce to the participating teams in this year’s FA Cup, that in the Male category, the winner will be walking away with the sum of Seven hundred thousand naira, while the runner up team will go home with four hundred thousand naira. The female category, winner will receive the sum of three hundred thousand naira while the runner up will smile home with goes two hundred thousand naira.”
In his speech, Mr. Umeh Ugbu, Human Resources Manager, Asaba Airport Company said that Football is the most popular sport in Africa that unites the entire continent, and Delta State have been the best in sports development in the country, adding that Delta State has produced the best of footballers in the country for decades saying that is one the major reason the company is delighted to be part of the success being recorded by the DFA.

According to Mr. Ugbu, “when you hear names such as late, Stephen Keshi, Sunday Oliseh, Austin Jay Jay Okocha, and a lot of accomplished footballers,all from Delta state, then it’s obvious Delta is truly the hub of the round leather game in the country,and as such it will be a great privilege for our company to work with the DFA.”
The event was witnessed by football stakeholders and invited guests at the football house in Asaba.
Meanwhile, Delta State Football Association has extended the closing date for the registration for the 2022 DFA Federations Cup Competition to Sunday, May 15, 2022 while the draws and kick off for the tournament is slated for the end of the month of May 2022.
