The Olu of Warri, Atuwatse 11, says the importance of the Delta State Gas City project to the state and the country at large cannot be overemphasized .

The Monarch stated this in an address to the Itsekiri Nation at his Palace in Warri during his twenty eight Coronation Anniversary, which capped recently.

After several cultural displays and paying homage at the second day of the coronation anniversary of the Olu of Warri, it was time for the Olu to deliver his message to the Itsekiri Nation.

The Olu of Warri who spoke through Chief Brown Mene in Itsekiri was emphatic on two major issues the just concluded elections and the Billion Dollars Delta City Gas Project, EPZ, in Escravos Ogidigben.

He noted that with the elections over, it was time for the winners and losers as well as all aggrieved parties to come together in unity and forge a common front for the development of the state and nation at large.

On the EPZ project, the Olu of Warri said the importance and benefits of the project to the state and the nation cannot be quantified.

The monarch noted that all must join hands together and work in unity to ensure the smooth running of the Billion Dollars project as it is aimed at revolutionising the Gas section in the country.

Meanwhile, over four hundred persons were attended to at the free medical healthcare section as part of activities of the Coronation Anniversary.

Head of the medical team and organiser of the programme, Dr. Mogba Eyeoyibo who is the President of Ugbajo Itsekiri UK and the Financial Secretary, Lulu Anthony expressed happiness at the turnout and noted that plans are on to ensure the sustenance of the programme and expand the scope to accommodate more people.

One of the beneficiaries of the programme, Madam Marry Okorodudun who said she was at the verge of total blindness following cataract infection narrated how her sight was restored via the free cataract operation incorporated in the programme.

The event also witnessed the paying of homage by members of the Ugbajo Itsekiri UK and US amongst others.
