FORMER Acting Chairman of Ughelli South Local Government Area, Hon. Josephine Oduran has expressed her determination to spread development across the council area if elected in the forthcoming Delta State local polls.

In a chat with our correspondent, the Ughelli South Local Government chairmanship aspirant under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) made it clear to her teeming supporters that she was still in the race.

According to her, there was no going back for her, saying she was set for the party primaries slated for August 9, 2014.

Hon. Oduran, who was elected as a councilor and later became Leader of the Legislative Arm before acting as Chairman of Ughelli South for one month assured her people of even development if elected as Chairman.

“I am abreast with the problems confronting my good people of Ughelli South Local Government Areas and I am in the chairmanship race to help them out. If elected I will establish skill acquisition centres for women and youths. I will also pay adequate attention to the welfare of our traditional rulers.

“The three point agent of our amiable Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan is working and I will adopt it if elected as the chairman of Ughell South Local Government Area. In my time if elected I will attract a lot of projects to the area. I will develop our people in order to stamp out restiveness.”

The Chairmanship aspirant who commended Governor Uduaghan and the State Deputy Governor, Prof. Amos Utuama for the massive development in Delta State promised to give the needed support to women if elected.

“I will give serious recognition to our women by empowering them. My government will be all inclusive and so my people would be rest assured of better days ahead. Peace and harmony will reign supreme in Ughelli South local government if elected as chairman.” She said.

Our checks revealed that seven chairmanship aspirants are set for the PDP primaries in Ughelli South with Hon. Josephine Oduran as the only female in the race.
