Wife of Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan, Deaconess (Mrs.) Roli Uduaghan has lauded the achievements of the outgoing Vice chancellor of Delta State University, Abraka, Professor Eric Arubayi.

She stated this yesterday at Our Savior’s Chapel, Delsu, Abraka while speaking to journalists during the Valedictory Thanksgiving Service in honour of Prof. Eric Arubayi for a successful tenure as Vice Chancellor of Delsu and the 60th Birthday Anniversary of Prof. (Mrs.) Diana Arubayi.

According to her, God was behind the success story of Prof. Arubayi, just as she prayed that anybody that will succeed him would do better than him.

She said: “It is God that has given him the power to succeed thus far. He was able to achieve all that he has achieved today because he did not fail to acknowledge God in his life. He has done very well and I pray that anybody that will succeed him should do better than him.”

On his part, Prof. Arubayi who was full of praises to God for a successful tenure as the Vice Chancellor of Delsu also praised hi wife, Prof. (Mrs.) Diana Arubayi for standing beside him through thick and thin.

While noting that he does not have the powers to determine who his successor would, he prayed that his successor would be a man with the fear of God.

Professor Arubayi who read the second Bible reading at the Thanksgiving Service said: “I thank God today that I have served my tenure successfully. I give all praises to God. He has been very good to me. It is only God that has brought me this far.”

On her part, Prof. (Mrs.) Arubayi who also used the opportunity to celebrate her 60th birthday, thanked God for the successful tenure of her husband.

She advised the younger generation to always put God first and have the fear of God in everything they are doing.

Earlier, the officiating Minister, Arch Bishop S.G. A Onibere in his sermon titled, “Lord Turn My Blunder to Wonders” said Prof. Arubayi’ Success story can only be attributed to his involvement of God in all that he does.

He said: “Prof. Arubayi is successful because he started with God. When he was made the Vice Chancellor five years ago he came to this Church to thank God. Today he is here again to thank God. He puts God first in everything he is doing. It is God who did all these things through him. I want to also thank his wife for standing beside him for the past five years.

Arch. Bishop Onibere stressed that to every child of God life begins at forty and urged all who want to be successful, to have God in their lives.

Present at the occasion were the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Chief Stephen Oru, the President General, Isoko Development Union, General Paul Omu (Rtd), the Ovie of Oruarivie Abraka, HRM Uku Odjevworo, Akpomeyoma Majoroh Ojeta II, the Ovie of Umiaghwa-Abraka Kingdom, HRM Awaeke I, AVM lucky Ochuko Ararile, the Secretary to the Delta State Government, Comrade Ovuozuorie Macaulay and host of other dignitaries.
