… Commends Okowa for been gender friendly

The Warri South council chairman, Dr Michael Tidi, on Thursday urged the newly sworn-in Delta commissioner from Warri South council, Hon. Princess (Mrs.) Shola Diabo, to help the administration of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa finish strong.

Tidi, who made this statement shortly after the swearing of 18 new commissioners by the state governor in Asaba, described Governor Okowa as a responsive and gender friendly Governor.

He urged Deltans to pray for the administration of governor Okowa stressing that the governor needs the prayers of all Deltans to deliver the dividends of democracy to all.

“Indeed, His Excellency, the Governor of Delta State, has shown that he is a responsive leader and a gender friendly leader.

“I want to urge the good people of Warri South Local Government Area to continue to support the administration of Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa. He needs the prayers of the people and we should keep praying for him.

“You can see that he is a God fearing governor. We pray God should continue to strengthen him health wise and give him enough wisdom.

“We should also pray for more fortune in the state so that the dividends of democracy would get down to everybody in terms of more development across the three senatorial districts in the state,” Tidi said.

Tidi described the newly sworn-in commissioner from Warri South council, Princess Daibo, as “not just another woman, but a lady who had shown capacity in the various positions she had held.

“We are indeed happy and you can see this in the faces of the various women and men who came from the various wards in Warri South council to celebrate with Princess Daibo.”

“While she’s not new in government, my expectations from her is that she should quickly compare notes with the commissioners in the executive council so at to get abreast with the ministry that she will be assigned to.

“She should be liberal minded and welcome fresh ideas, all in a bid to help his Excellency to achieve a stronger Delta agenda.

“So our expectations is that she will continue to support his Excellency so that at the end of his administration, Delta will be better for it.”
