Chief Joseph Ogaga Ogunje, the Igho of Oghara Kingdom as well as renowned  accountant who served meritoriously at the Local Government Service Commission of Delta State where he rose to the position of Treasurer of the Loca Government(TLG) has emerged the President General of the foremost socio-political organisation in Oghara Kingdom, Oghara Elite Forum(OEF) in an election devoid of rancour and acrimony.

Chief Ogunje emerged unopposed in an election conducted by a three-man electoral committee made up of Mr. Godwin Ogbodu, chairman, Mr. Victor Okies Okpomor, secretary and Mr. Ben Eche,  member.

In his inaugural speech, Chief Ogunje expressed appreciation to God for the gift of life and protection and just as he also expressed his appreciation to members for reposing confidence in him and other members of the newly elected executive , he disclosed that their election is a call to service to Oghara Kingdom.

While commending the immediate past executive led by the indefatigable and result-oriented Mr. Tony Omene for piloting the affairs of the Forum, Chief Ogunje promised to operate an open door policy, to be accountable and transparent in all their dealings.

According to Chief Ogunje, “this is time to build upon the foundation laid by the Omene led executive and others before him. We shall be very transparent , accountable. We should be able to empower our people by giving out scholarships to indigent and very brilliant ones as well as provide benches among others. I am using this opportunity to solicit the cooperation of members, stakeholders and traditional institution with a view to move our great kingdom to greater heights.”

He spoke further, “criticize us constructively, give us useful information, collaborate with us to enable us move Oghara Kingdom to the next level. I promise on behalf of other members of the executive that we shall not betray the confidence reposed in us.”

Other members of the executive elected are Chief Robert Eyaufe, 1st Vice President General, Hon. Isaac Okotete, 2nd Vice President General, Mr. Charles Todo, Secretary General, Mr. Ezekiel Avwonye, Treasurer, Mr. Benson Ukwesa, Financial Secretary, Mr. Emeghene Avwurhi, Assistant Financial Secretary, Mr. Tedman Odugo, Public Relations Officer, Com. Vincent Ojegba, Organising Secretary and Mr. Moses Okwe, Auditor.

High point was the administration of oath of office on the newly elected executive by Chief (Barr.) K. Tano.
