Progressive People’s Alliance (PPA) is a responsible political party positioning to truly bring in young men and women that are poised to change the face of governance in Delta State just as it has distanced itself from a purported endorsement of Senator Ifeanyi Okowa as sole candidate of Coalition of United Political Parties(CUPP), Delta State chapter.

This was disclosed by Clem Odukwe, Publicity Secretary, Progressive People’s Alliance(PPA), Delta State chapter in a statement in apparent reaction to a statement that purportedly endorsed Dr. Okowa as the governorship candidate of the Coalition of United Political Parties(CUPP) in Delta State for the 2019 general elections.

Odukwe noted with dismay that the purported endorsement by the Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP)was done without the consent of all stakeholders as the Progressive People’s Alliance’s (PPAs)consent was not sought.

According to Odukwe, “the Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) is a body of over 50 Political Parties That publication of this nature ought to have been done with the consent of the entire Stakeholders. The stand taken in the publication does not represent the true Position of our Party, the Progressive Peoples Alliance (PPA). That even the Logo as was used in the said Publication is an old logo of the Party that was since rebranded following a resolution at the 2015 National Convention of the Party which goes to truly reveal that our Party, the Progressive Peoples Alliance (PPA) was not consulted.”

The Party disclosed that they are contenders and not pretenders in the electoral process come 2019 in Delta State, adding, “the Progressive Peoples Alliance (PPA)is a responsible Political Party positioning to truly bring in young men and women that are poised to change the face of governance in Delta State.”

The Party then called on members and their supporters to disregard the purported endorsement of Dr. Okowa as governorship candidate of the Coalition(CUPP).

The Party added, “we made this statement to distance our Party, the Progressive Peoples Alliance (PPA) from the Publication and urge all Party faithfuls as well as our ever growing supporters across the State and beyond to continue their support for our great Party as we are working tirelessly to making sure that in the forthcoming 2019 general elections, we will present credible candidates to the People of Delta State. Candidates that shall contest in all the elective positions including that of the office of the Governor of Delta State.
