The councilor representing Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, ward 5, Ovu, Ethiope East local government area, Hon. John Palmer, yesterday, refuted the inclusion of his name among those who sat at a meeting where the decision to endorse Mr. Augustine Ogedegbe as Ovu ward 5 leader was held.

Hon. Palmer made this statement while reacting to a publication of Monday, April 11, 2016 in the Urhobo Voice, page 9 and Pointer newspapers, where his name was included among those who attended a meeting where Comrade Ogedegbe was said to have been endorsed as the leader of Ovu ward 5, Ethiope East.

John Palmer, one time leader of the legislative arm of Ethiope East local government area of Delta State, said his attention was drawn to the publication in Urhobo Voice and Pointer newspapers of Monday, April 11, 2016, where he was said to have attended a meeting where Ogedegbe emerged as leader Ovu ward 5, which he said was not true and a big lie.Speaking further,

Palmer said, “I did not attend any meeting where l was among those who adopted or endorsed Mr. Augustine Ogedegbe as the leader of Ovu ward 5. I am refuting the publication to further buttress my position about the meeting.”

Palmer expressed dismay that such falsehood and deceit could be perpetuated against him deliberately, demanding for an apology from those who had done this with intention of bringing him into dispute.
