We condemn in all totality, the recent attack on former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan Otuoke’s Country Home in Bayelsa State, which can best be described a sad thing and another dangerous dimension of the country’s political development.

What could be the reason for the said attack, which is outrightly uncalled for? Who are those behind the said attack? Was it necessary? Regardless of these questions that are begging for answers, we believe there is no justifiable reason for the said attack on a former President’s home front.

We also commensurate with the family of the Soldier who lost his life, as well as those who were injured during the attack. But we earnestly hope that this does not become a trend. When politically-exposed persons of such a calm and high profile, are attacked at their country home of rest, we wonder what hope the common masses have as regard their security assurance.
