A socio-political group known as ‘De Servants’ has called on all well-meaning Nigerians to cast their undying support for President Goodluck Jonathan and Governor Henry Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State in the forthcoming presidential and governorship elections to enable them continue their leadership of good governance.

The political group which has its members drawn from all over the federation made this call in an enlarged press conference at the Bayelsa State NUJ press centre in Yenagoa Yesterday.

The leadership of the body which noted that the NGO was basically formed with the core objectives of promoting, celebrating, encouraging and supporting good governance in the country revealed that they have since identified with the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan because of his outstanding leadership qualities and good governance.

While addressing the press during the conference, the Leader of the group, Engr. Kime Engozu, explained that under the administration of President Jonathan, deliberate and conscious policies have been put in place to make the country investment friendly; stressing that the country has witnessed increase in the GDP in spite of the security challenges.

Engr. Kime also said that De Servants is pleased with the numerous achievements which Bayelsa State has attained under the government of Hon. Henry Seriake Dickson. He noted that they have no hesitation in pledging their unflinching support for him.

The group which took critical look into all the sectors of the nation strongly condemned the Northern Elders Forum for trying to blackmail President Jonathan with their so-called ultimatum to ensure the release of the abducted Chibok girls of forget about his re-election ambition.

De Servants explained that the Northern Elders Forum has done nothing to ensue the safe return of the Chibok girls, calling on them to behave like other statesmen by liaising with the Boko Haram sect which has claimed responsibility for the abduction and ensure the safe release of the girls.

The body extended greetings to all individuals who share the same aspiration of supporting good governance with them such as TAN, Ndigbo, Niger Delta Elders and Protectors of Nigeria Posterity amongst others; while urging Jonathan to contest for second term that it is his constitutional right.
