Oghara Elite Forum(OEF), foremost socio-political group in Oghara Kingdom continues with the distribution of educational materials to indigent pupils in the kingdom made up of Ogharefe and Oghareki sub clans with a view to improve standard of education in the Kingdom.

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Jacob Ighere, Chairman of Adhoc Education Committee of the Forum who represented Chief Joseph Ogunje, President General, Oghara Elite Forum (OEF) disclosed that the Forum embarked on the project when they saw the plight of parents of the Kingdom who were struggling with the current economic hassles and were unable to fully provide these essential educational materials for their children.

He said that the sight of the improperly kitted Oghara sons and daughters who are pupils dressed in tattered uniforms compelled the Forum to come out to provide the materials
to the pupils.

The President General of Oghara Elite Forum (OEF) said that education is key to the overall development of the society and one cannot but ignore it hence the Forum decided to tackle one of the rotten aspect of education .

According to him, “it is a fact that the educational needs of children in public schools in Nigeria are weighing too much as a burden on the shoulders of poor parents due mainly to the harsh economic situation in Nigeria where many parents are living below the poverty level and government is not helping matters as well as have failed in her obligations and responsibilities to her citizens, that’s why we came out to fill the gap so that our children would better be equipped to get good education and be presentable.”

Schools that benefitted includes Onogborhe Primary School, Ovade, Oghara, Ukavwe Primary School, Otefe, Oghara among many others.

Some parents and stakeholders in Oghara Kingdom commended Oghara Elite Forum (OEF) for the kind gesture, they called on well meaning, well to do individuals, corporate organisations and NGO’s to emulate the kind gesture of Oghara Elite Forum(OEF).

Items distributed includes school bags, sandals, uniforms and writing materials.
