The Chieftain and a member of the party’s Board of Trustees, BoT,
disclosed that he made his decision to quit the party due to lack of
direction and objectives of the People’s Democratic
Party that seems not right to him.

Despite his resignation, the former Governor still expresses his
gratitude towards the years of his PDP membership and to the National Secretary of the party, appreciating them for the privileges and opportunities he was given during his time in the party.

His words: “Recent developments within and the non-cohesiveness in matters affecting the party led me to withdraw my membership of the PDP. This decision I have already communicated to the hierarchy of the party alongside my gratitude and appreciation for the privilege the party afforded me to serve in different capacities.
“My resolve to remain in PDP was more deeply entrenched after the presidential election which the PDP lost. It was my conviction that the PDP should regroup and convert to a viable alternative as a means of fostering our nascent democracy.”

The former military governor however, did not made know to newsmen his next destination; but fillers from his camp suggest he is on his way to join forces with the ruling party, All Progressive Party for continuity in governance.
