Chief Henry Ofa

The immediate past commissioner who represented Ethiope West, SapeleO kpe, Uvwie and the Warri Urhobo at the Delta State oil producing areas development commission DESOPADEC Chief Dr. Henry Ofa (JP) and many others have bagged the award of Oasis magazine for his numerous and wonderful contribution in transforming the oil bearing  communities in Delta State.

Chief Ofa who was represented at the event at the Iyere civic centre, Obiaruku by his media assistant, Dr. Onoriode Onuwafor expressed delight at the award of meritorious services which was given to him by the magazine for the good services he has rendered to his good people of Urhobo nation, noting that he is propelled to do more for his people by the awards coming to him from all parts of Urhobo nation and beyond.

Chief Ofa who responded to questions from journalists through his media assistant after the award said an award of this nature is geared towards making the individual work harder for his people, assuring that if given more opportunities by government, he would do more for Deltans and Nigerians in particular while appealing to those in position of authorities to do their best in putting smiles on the faces of the people which they are made to serve, pointing out that God uses people in extending his love to the less privilege ones in the society.

for using his media in reaching the grass root with current news and events happening around the state, Nigeria and the world at large charging him to be constructive on his criticism of government policies and programs since government is desirous of given the best to the society at al time.

The publisher of Oasis magazine who is based at Abraka Delta, while delivering his address at the occasion of the maiden edition of Oasis magazine role model Award said they have kept to their mission of setting a pace to move the country forward and inspiring people to succeed through their various rated columns, articles and features remarking further that the ceremony was put together to recognize and the individuals who have in no small measure contributed to the lives of others in ways that stand them out.

He added that this is the first time they are embarking on this project assuring that they will correct all the lapses experienced at the event in subsequent editions of the ceremony while calling on those present to brace up to the challenges in Nigeria which is yearning for more entrepreneur on the scene to ameliorate the plight of young graduates and the youths that are already over flooding the labour market.

He appealed to Nigerians in building a Nation devoid of corruption and terrorism that hinders the progress of our dear country advising the leaders, to make up their minds not to go the way of previous government office holders that had shown insatiable desire for gains and not selfless service revealing that Oasis magazine is the one that can be trusted for facts not minding whose horse is gored.

The publisher who also doubled as the Editor in Chief added, “We have apart form Delta State, secured the rights to appear on all the stands in Rivers State and with more financers at our disposal, we plan to do more like getting more professional hands, expanding our frontiers and enjoined more attention on the internet as our website has already kicked off operations hoping that someone here today will heed our call for more finances as we sincerely appreciate all that have contributed to this programme in one way or the other”.
