Chairman of the Warri South Local Government Area, Dr Michael Tidi has said that the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) is the only party that can salvage the country from the mess it finds itself in today.

Tidi said Nigeria needs someone who has an in-depth knowledge of governance to move the country forward.

Tidi said this at Warri South Council Secretariat, Warri Delta State when he played host to a politics group, ‘MORE For Delta Youths,’ who paid him a courtesy visit on Tuesday.

The Warri South Council boss urged all Deltans to vote for Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, the PDP Presidential and Vice Presidential candidates for the 2023 election.

He said that since a son of Delta is the running mate to the PDP Presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the state should deliver more for Abubakar than his own state, Adamawa.

“We have our Delta son, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, on the ballot. All we need to do is to make sure that what we give the incoming president (by God’s grace), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, is much more than what he will get from Adamawa state,” Tidi said.

Tidi, who said he is one hundred percent in support of Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori candidacy, stressed that “anywhere Sheriff goes is where I will go.”

He said Delta state needed someone who has, over the years, worked closely with His Excellency, Senator Dr Ifeanyi, to take over from him.

“Now we have gotten that person, all we need to do is to rally round that person. We know we will win , but we need to win well,” Tidi said.

Tidi, commended the Deputy Director General of the group, Ambassador Ogagaroghene Ogheneyole, who represented the Directors General of the group, Sheriff Francis Oborevwori (Jnr)
and his team for steering the ship this far.

He congratulated him for the position saying that it was a square peg in square hole.

“I was not surprised when you were made the Deputy DG of this fast rising organization. So I want to on behalf of my political family and my family congratulate you on this your position,” Tidi said.

He advised the group to try as much as possible to harness issues that will unite the party and de-emphasize things that will further divide the party.

“There are some persons today, even though they are in the minority, that are aggrieved. You cannot take that out. Some, may feel because of sense of entitlement, they needed to be appeased. Please do our party a favour, when you come across such persons, please all you owe that person is to apologize on behalf of the party.”

He said Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, the governorship candidate of the PDP will remain victorious in any kind of challenge he is going to face in the future, just as he has been victorious in all the court cases.

Tidi promised to support the group in every way he can saying that he will support anything that will make Sheriff Oborevwori and all other PDP candidates in the state win the upcoming election.

Earlier, Ambassador Ogheneyole said the group sees Dr Michael Tidi as a representative of the youths in the state, hence the courtesy visit.

He said that MORE for Delta Youths group is the youth phase of Sheriff Campaign Organization saddled with the task of mobilizing the youth for all the PDP candidates in the state for the 2023 election.

He said the group has been going round the local governments in the state, adding that they will soon come to Warri South Council Area.
