Christians have been charged to always give thanks to God and adopt a grateful disposition towards life and living.

This charge was given by the Rev’d Emeni Ogochukwu during the Annual Harvest Thanksgiving service of the St Peter’s Anglican Church, Ndokwa diocese, Obiaruku.

Rev’d Ogochukwu said Christians should always come together for thanksgiving to the Lord for all He has done, for what He’s doing and for all that He will do because that is what God expects of his children at all times. He urged the congregation to live their lives in reverence to God who is the foundation of all human life.

The clergy expressed his gratitude to God for his marvellous works in the life of his people; he encouraged the believers to always be willing to do the work of God and give Him thanks in all situations adding that an ungrateful heart, lack of interest and disobedience have made so many Christians not to give thanks for God’s goodness and misplaced their priorities.

According to Rev’d Ogochukwu, the benefits of thanksgiving is that God will always be with you and experience God’s visitation. He therefore, enjoined St Peter’s members to always be dependent on God at all times because he is too faithful to fail.

Addressing the press after the thanksgiving service, the Vicar-in-Charge of St Peter’s Anglican Church, the Rev’d Ken Uwaechina expressed gratitude to God for making the 2015 annual harvest thanksgiving a huge success; he also prayed for more of God’s blessings upon the church.
