Politicians aspiring for elective positions come 2019 have been called upon to avoid maligning and blackmailing authorities to gain favour as well as discredit opponents especially within same party to gain favour just as they have been advised to carry out issue based campaigns.

This call was made by Ochor Ochor Campaign Organisation in a statement signed by Mr. Emmanuel Enebeli, Media Consultant on behalf of Hon Christopher Ochor Ochor who has publicly declared his intention to contest to represent the people of Ukwuani Local Government in the Delta State House of Assembly come 2019.

Hon Ochor in a 12 points release said that he is entering the race to contest the primaries under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with an open mind and a proud party faithful since the inception of the party who has built structures around the various wards in the local government that will give him victory at the primaries of the party.

According to the statement, “Hon. Ochor Ochor does not shy away from being a steadfast Party loyalist and an unrepentant and proud supporter of PDP led Governments since 1999 especially that of the current performing Government of Senator (Dr.) Ifeanyi Okowa. Hon Ochor Ochor, in preparing for the forthcoming election has developed and build structures in the ten wards of the LGA, this has made him a credible and strong player in the race.”

HOn. Ochor Ochor called on politicians, especially those on the same political platform to do away with blackmail of opponents and the authorities just as he denounced the use of blackmail to gain supports, especially as such actions is coming from those who had been disloyal to the party and to sponsors.

The statement added, “therefore the resort of our opponent, whose history of Party disloyalty, disrespect of constituted authority and betrayal of sponsors to petitioning against the cordial working relationship of Hon. Ochor Ochor and the party structure can only be summarized to be cheap and unnecessary blackmail.”

HON. Ochor Ochor  reiterated that his intention to run and represent the people of Ukwuani in the State House of Assembly is borne out of love to attract development to the area, adding, “my declaration to contest is based purely on my capability, relevance and experience which will quickly and effectively translate to development of Ukwuani Constituency in the current and coming dispensation. I am  proud to be a politician that has never abandoned his root, the PDP. I remain proud of being a politician with no history of abandoning the Party even at odd times.”

The statement further advised opponents who are carrying out campaign of calumny and blackmail against him and the authorities to step down instead of embarking on campaigns of blackmail, as it had been proved that they have nothing to offer.
