The Nigerian Army has brokered a truce between two warring indigenous oil firms, Nest Oil Plc, Jones Creek oil field and their host communities in Warri South West council of Delta State.

The host communities include , Kokodiagbene, Okerenkoko, Akpatagbegbe, Akpataegbemu and Omadino.

The jaw-jaw was brokered by officers from the 4th Brigade in Benin City, capital of Edo State and 3rd Battalion, Effurun Barrack, Delta State.

At the meeting were representatives of the communities and that of the oil firm, led by its General Manager, Warri Operations, Chief Oladipe Ishola.

Commanding Officer, 3rd Battalion, Lt. Col. Okon Bassey, who chaired the peace parley advised both parties to continue with their discussions and harmonize all grey areas in their agreements.

The Commanding Officer, further charged both parties to respect the terms of agreements as according to him, the nation needs peace and tranquility at this critical period.

It was also agreed that Nest Oil will not move out of the present well head location to another location within the Jones Creek oil field until all thorny issues are resolved amicably.

Spokesman for the communities, Comrade Sheriff Mulade, expressed delight with the outcome of the meeting and lauded the Army for stepping into the matter.
