Itsekiri ethnic nationality in Delta State would use the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) to their advantage just as they would not encourage taking resources from one community to another.

This was disclosed by HRM Ogiame Atuwatse 111, Olu of Warri at the ceremony marking his second coronation anniversary in Aghofen, Warri

The reverred monarch made the assertion during a remark he made at the 2nd coronation anniversary held at the Aghofen Palace in Warri, he said that this is to allow for overall development in all communities.

The Olu added that communities with oil would be linked to communities without oil.

HRM. Atuwatse called on his people to be their brother’s keepers stressing, “we will manage the PIA to the best of Iwere land.”

While expressing his appreciation to his people for celebrating him on his second year coronation anniversary, HRM. Atuwatse urged them to join hands with him and traditional council of Chiefs of Iwere Kingdom to move Warri Kingdom forward.

In his speech, Rt.Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, Governor of Delta State assured the Olu that his government shall continue to support traditional rulers because of the roles they play in their respective Kingdoms in the State.

Governor Oborevwori who was was represented by Sir Monday Onyeme, his Deputy said, “it is on this note that I wish to assure you, Your Majesty that as a government, we shall continue to support our traditional rulers because we are aware of the roles that you play in ensuring peaceful co-existence in your domain.”

“if your kingdoms are peaceful, our state will be peaceful and our programmes will be delivered successfully to the benefits of all Deltans and humanity.

Accordng to Rt. Hon. Oborevwori, “Your Majesty, it is on this note that once again, I, on behalf of the government and the good people of Delta State, say, congratulations and happy coronation anniversary.”
