Residents of Ohrerhe-Agbarho Community in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta have appealed to the state government to provide the community with a secondary school to ease learning.

The President-General of the community, Chief Gilbert Omos made the appeal on Thursday during the inauguration of the 3.0 kilometers Ohrerhe-Agbarho/Otokutu Access Road Phase One in Ughellli North.

Our correspondent gathered that road project is expected to served as means of addressing the aged-long transport and commerce deficit existing between Ohrerhe and Otokutu Communities.

It was commissioned by the Delta governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, flanked by his counterpart in Akwa Ibom State, Mr Emmanuel Udom.

Omos said that the community lacked secondary school which
according to him had hindered the academic pursuit of the youth in the area.

“We need a post primary school in our community to enable our youth to study.

“The absence of a secondary school in our community has hindered young children in the community from furthering their studies beyond primary school level.

“The issue is disheartening and generating concern among our people,” he said.

The community leader solicited for the construction of a concrete drainage on the Ohrehre-Agbarho/Otokutu Access Road, in order to address erosion in the area.

Omos also appealed for the extension of the road through Otokutu to the DSC highway to facilitate easy interchange between the communities.

He, however, thanked governor Okowa for his infrastructural drive in the state.
