Grassroots Newspapers Publishers Network, GNPN, a Media Pressure group has endorsed Chief Peter Okocha, chairman, Sadiq Petroleum as the most distinguished ,qualified and experienced Anioma person to take over from Dr. Emmanuelr Uduanghan come 2015.

Dr Dan Awana, President of the group at an enlarged meeting in Asaba pledged their support for Chief Peter Okocha to run for the governorship seat in the fort coming general elections in 2015 in

recognition of his passion to promote quality education for children in Delta state and as an industrialist cum philanthropist, he is concerned for the welfare of widows, children and the deprived in the society using the machinery of his foundation, The Peter Okocha Foundation (POF).

Chief Duke O.D Okereka, vice chairman of the group stressed that all well-meaning Deltans should look no further in the search of who will be the state s’  next governor, adding, “for us to ensure that the collective interests of the people of Delta state is protected, we need to support Chief Peter Okocha’s candidacy.”

The group also cited Chief Okocha’s outstanding credentials as the chairman of various Companies saying that Chief Okocha has provided his various companies with good leadership that has made his companies vibrant and efficient companies, adding. “I indeed, this year can easily be dubbed a season of awards for the Delta-born politician and technocrat. From within and outside these shores, reputable organisations have honoured Chief Okocha for his role in the resuscitation and repositioning of the Private sector. The battle against insecurity and impunity is indeed a total responsibility for all and sundry. Let us all work together to break the hold of this societal menace by supporting our vibrant aspirant, Chief  Okocha, for the governorship election come 2015. This way, we can kick start the process of purging our state from all forms of insecurity that threatens the very existence of our dear state.”

The group also noted that in the coming days, they will start mobilizing Deltans using various social network sites, town hall meetings and press releases so as to sensitize eligible voters on the need to support Chief Okocha’s candidacy in order to promote the general welfare of Deltans.

Dr Awana used the opportunity to call on all Anioma people to rise up and reject what he referred to as “Our present slavery status.”

The group then called on Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, governor of Delta state to break his silence and endorse the governorship ambition of Chief Okocha on the basis of equity, justice, and natural sequence and as a means of sustaining unity, healthy rivalry and competitiveness among and between the people  of Delta State.
