Ozegbe has commended the state governor Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa for the success of the Skill Acquisition examination 2016 STEP & YAGEP exercise.

Speaking at the Delta State University Campus 1 Abraka Centre, the SA emphasized that the exercise has been very impressive from any angle anybody chooses to look at it. According to him, over 70 applicants registered for different vocations including; agricultural processing, computer training, tailoring/fashion design, hairdressing, decoration, etc.

Ozegbe advised the applicants to take their job/training seriously
while adding that the government is fully committed to the success of the programme since there is diversification of the economy from oil to agriculture.

He reiterated the commitment of the state government to the programme, assuring the participants of integrity from the job creation office that has been selected to monitor applicants sent on training after which there will be employment.

Also speaking on the exercise, the Managing Director, Omildet Nig Ltd, a consulting firm in Lagos, said the period of training depends on the track chosen by the applicants which usually ranges from 3-6 months.

Meanwhile, some participants in the programme who spoke to reporters lauded the efforts and wisdom of the state government for initiating the programme in order to empower the youths and reduce unemployment.

They also appealed to the government to sustain the programme so that others can benefit from it too.

The applicants enthusiastically called on other applicants and
unemployed youths in the state to have faith in the Prosperity for all
Deltans and SMART agenda of the Okowa-led administration and the ability of the state government to impact on their lives through the STEP/YAGEP programme which has been successful since its inception.
