Delta State Governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa has reconstituted the State Tenders Board with the Deputy Governor, Barr. Kingsley Otuaro as Chairman.

The Governor in a circular signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Hon. Festus Agas said that the reconstitution of the Board was to ensure strict adherence to due process and transparency in the procurement of goods and services.

According to him, “In order to ensure that due process is followed in the procurement of goods and services and to effectively deliver on the development agenda of this administration, His Excellency, the Governor has approved the reconstitution of the State Tenders Board”.

Senator Okowa charged the newly constituted Board to ensure strict and effective control of expenditure, compliance with openness, competition and optimal cost rules and procedures in the awards of contracts in the state.

The Governor further charged members of the board to always take the prevailing economic situation in the country into cognisance in considering any tender or proposal brought before the board.

He emphasised that all approved contracts must serve the interest of all Deltans in line with the prosperity agenda of his administration.

Other members of the newly constituted Board are the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice; Honourable Commissioners for Works; Health; Finance; Economic Planning; Women Affairs, Community and Social Development; Housing; Water Resources Development; the Special Adviser [Project Monitoring/Senior Policy Adviser] and the Secretary to State Government.
